Sports and Leisure Assistant job summary

JOB TITLE: Sport & Leisure Assistant

GRADE: SCP 3-4 (£12.45 - £12.65 per hour)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Sport and Leisure Manager

CONTRACT : 6 hours per week, Wednesdays 4:30pm - 10:30pm including 15 min unpaid break

Adhoc emergency Duty Officer hours (paid at time and a half)

Purpose of the Role

To support the Duty Officers and Managers through undertaking administrative and marketing duties, and financial reports, to assist the Centre Operations. To be a constant part of our front desk team, dealing with customers, working with our administrative systems and supporting the team in all administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

The list is given as a guideline only and is not exhaustive. Other tasks and activities relevant to the main headings should also be considered acceptable. A degree of flexibility is therefore considered essential.

Main duties

Maintain high ‘front of house’ standards and assist with the smooth running of the centre. To act as the responsible officer in the absence of the Duty Officer.

Maintain customer service standard, to ensure that the centre adheres to the Academy’s and Sports Centres policies/procedures, practices and strategies including financial regulations and health & safety requirements.

To deal effectively and helpfully with customer enquiries, queries and complaints.

Setting up of sports facilities.

Cleaning, health and safety and maintenance checks on equipment

To carry out administration and marketing tasks where required.

To assist the Sport and Leisure Managers:

In the provision of an effective service including the selling of memberships, recurring card payments, and Centre bookings.

In the day to day Financial matters relating to the Sport Centre and Lettings; till management and cashing up procedures where required.

General

To provide cover for the Duty Officer where required including Annual Leave Cover.

To follow the Sports Centre Normal Operating Procedures.

To undertake health and safety duties as detailed in the Academies and Sports Centre Health and Safety policy.

To maintain and develop good working relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders, including Staff, Young People, the General Public, Schools, Community Groups, Sports Clubs and Officers of the Council
