Exam Invigilator job summary

Standard Rate: £12.50 per hour (based on 2025-26 salary rates)

Lead Invigilator Rate: £13.75 per hour (based on 2025 salary rates)

Gravesend Grammar School is looking for flexible and organised examination invigilators to work on a casual basis assisting with the administration and preparation of the examination rooms. This role will also include supervising students according to the rules and regulations of the examining boards. The role involves standing and supervising students for the duration of their exams. Ideally candidates should be available during the busy examination periods January, Mid April to End of June & October.

Gravesend Grammar School is an 11-18 selective boys grammar school with girls admitted to the Sixth Form. The most recent Ofsted Inspection (June 2015) judged the School as ‘Outstanding’.
We became an Academy on 1st August 2011 as part of The Decus Educational Trust (TDET).
