Job Vacancy: Exam Invigilator

Location: Parklands High School, Chorley

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Reporting to: Exams Officer


Parklands High School is seeking reliable, calm and conscientious Exam Invigilators to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly, safely and in full accordance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.


What you’ll do:

  • Support the smooth running of examinations before, during and after each exam session.
  • Ensure exam materials remain secure at all times.
  • Admit and supervise students under formal examination conditions.
  • Distribute and collect exam papers and materials.
  • Maintain a quiet, focused and supportive exam environment.
  • Uphold exam regulations, prevent malpractice and respond effectively to any issues.
  • Assist with access arrangements where required (e.g., acting as a reader or scribe).
  • Attend required training prior to the exam season.


Ideal candidates will:

  • Be punctual, dependable and attentive.
  • Remain calm under pressure and confident in enforcing exam rules.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Work well as part of a team but also independently within the exam room.
