Exam Invigilator job summary

Position: Exam Invigilator Salary: NJC Point 2Tenure: CasualHours: As required during school hours 8am to 3pm

Main Purpose of the Role:

Under the general direction of the Careers & Exams Officer, to:

assist with the arrangements for the layout of examination rooms and issue of desk numbers;

ensure that students have no unauthorised books or equipment in the examination room;

direct students to their seats;

help to ensure that the correct question paper is allocated to the students;

record the student’s attendance;

observe students throughout the examination in accordance with Examination Board instructions;

ensure that no students are allowed access to mobile phones and other telecommunication devices during the exam;

ensure that no students leave the exam in progress unless accompanied by an invigilator;

escort students from the examination room when necessary;

issue additional stationery when required;

collect examination papers on completion of the examination.

Key Responsibilities:

To contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the Academy.

To work as part of a team and support the role of other people within the team.

To act as a role model and to be aware of and to respond appropriately to individual needs.

To be aware of and comply with policies relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to a nominated person.
