What skills and experience we're looking for

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential -

  • Experience of working withing a secondary school environment, in an administrative capacity, for at least three years.

Desirable -

  • Evidence of relevant CPD• Knowledge and understanding of school procedures • Knowledge of examinations regulations or procedures

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Essential

• Excellent communication skills • An ability to work towards deadlines with high levels of accuracy • Previous experience working with children • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Some experience of leadership or management • Strong organisational skills • Good behaviour management skills • ICT skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel • High level of personal organisation, and the ability to work independently

Desirable

• Staff management experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Good general standard of education with qualifications to at least A-level standard or equivalent

Desirable

Relevant qualification with regard to Exams Officer role

What the school offers its staff

The post will involve planning, administration and organisation of internal and external examinations in accordance with school policies and relevant regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including, registering pupils, managing exam papers and timetables, preparing seating plans, keeping up to date with examination changes, line managing a team of invigilators, issuing examination certificates and any other statutory requirements.

The post would suit someone who has a flexible approach, is highly efficient and organised with attention to detail.
