Examinations Officer job summary
Examinations Officer - 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm, term time only (40 weeks). Flexibility is required during exam periods, and you must be available to work during GCSE results week. Grade E - Step 1 Actual Annual Salary £29,235.80 (which is equivalent to a full-time salary of £33,179).
As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing RAISE Education Trust is trialling a two week half term break 19th to 30th October 2026. Following this trial, should the Trust revert back to a one-week October half term break from 2027 the contractual working weeks would increase to 39 weeks and the salary would increase accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of all internal and external examinations, ensuring full compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements by the JCQ.
- Plan and manage the examinations calendar, including timetables, rooming, staffing, and invigilation.
- Oversee exam entries via SIMS, ensuring accuracy, adherence to school policy, and effective liaison with staff, students, parents, and exam boards.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, and distribution of all examination materials and completed scripts.
- Manage exam-day operations, including access arrangements, resolving timetable clashes, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Recruit, train, and deploy invigilators to ensure high standards of exam conduct.
- Coordinate results processes, including results days, post-results services (reviews/appeals), and reporting/analysis of exam data.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor budgets, ensure data protection compliance, and keep up to date with exam regulations and best practice.
- During exam periods and results the successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours outside of stated working hours to ensure completion of exams and results

Deer Park School is a new seven-form entry secondary school which opened in September 2021 initially with four forms of Year 7 and growing to full capacity of seven forms of entry over the next seven years.
We are part of the Wildern Academy Trust which comprises of Wildern School, Deer Park Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School.
