What skills and experience we're looking for

York High School is seeking to appoint an Examinations Officer to ensure the smooth and efficient organisation and administration of all aspects of the school’s external and internal examinations.

As Examinations Officer, you will manage the administration of the examinations process from start to finish, ensuring the process runs accurately and in accordance with examinations regulations. You will also provide administration support to other areas of the school where required.

You will have excellent administration skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and work under pressure. You will be organised and committed, and whilst experience working in a similar role would be advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be provided.

Due to the nature of this role, flexibility will be required around working hours because additional hours will be required during exam periods. There will be other periods throughout the year where fewer weekly hours will need to be worked. The weekly hours will average 30 hours per week across the year. Further details can be discussed with interested candidates.

We would strongly encourage any prospective candidate to visit the school. Please email Dawn Becton, PA to Principal and Office Manager, at d.becton@yorkhigh.elt.org.uk if you would like to arrange a visit.

Further information about the school can be found on the school website: https://www.yorkhighschool.co.uk/

An application form and further details are available to download from the Trust website: https://excellearningtrust.org.uk/careers/

Please email completed applications to recruitment@elt.org.uk for the attention of Gavin Kumar, Principal

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 2 June 2025.

Excel Learning Trust reserves the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at midnight either on the advertised closing date, or at the point the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early. Applicants will be invited for interview once suitable applications are received, therefore early applications are strongly encouraged and advised
