Job Description

1. Producing and agree and annual exam plan to meet Academy requirements.

2. Organising the calendar of examinations and assessments.

3. Ensure tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner, meeting all agreed deadlines.

4. Providing appropriate provision and supervision of the examinations staff, ensuring all exams run smoothly.

5. Acting as a central receiver of the information from Examinations Boards, DfE, LA and other bodies and ensuring relevant information is shared with curriculum leaders and the Senior Leadership Team.

6. Processing examination results and preparing data as required by stakeholders.

7. Ensuring effective and efficient management of the Exam budget.

8. Provide and organise the timetable of examinations and tests (written, oral and practical) rooming them according to numbers and materials required, planning invigilation as necessary and equipping rooms with required facilities.

9. Provide information about students who need special consideration. This involves liaison with teaching staff, pastoral and inclusion teams, as well as effective communication with students and parents.

10. Oversee the efficient use, training and development of exam invigilators to support exams.

11. To be present on the days the centre is notified of results and results days (these dates change year on year).

12. Update examination policies annually, ensure they are compliant with JCQ regulations.

13. Create marksheets on the school information system for examinations and NEA’s.

14. Ensure senior leaders, staff and other key stakeholders receive accurate and timely management information relating to school and student performance within specific deadlines.

15. Collate, analyse and review data from several sources/systems and provide reports for the executive board/senior leaders.

16. Support senior leaders in presenting performance data that is clearly presented and analysed as required.

17. Ensure that data from external agencies is downloaded, communicated and inputted into school management information systems.

18. Ensure full compliance with GDPR legislation and regulations for data/exams area and provide clear guidance for your team and staff regarding policy and actions required.

19. As part of your wider duties and responsibilities you are required to promote and actively support the school’s responsibilities towards Safeguarding. Safeguarding is about keeping people safe and protecting people from harm, neglect, abuse and injury. It is about creating safe places, being vigilant and doing something about any concerns you might have.

20. Carry out your duties with due regard to current and future Academy policies, procedures and relevant legislation. These will be drawn to your attention in your appointment letter, your statement of particulars, induction, and on-going performance development and through Academy communications.

21. Any other responsibilities commensurate within the requirements for this role or as directed by your Line Manager and flexibility to support colleagues across team as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Knowledge of school information and data systems.
  • Knowledge of exam timetables and timetabling software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High level of numeracy & literacy, with GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above).
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Good working knowledge of SIMs/Arbor and relevant modules (assessment manager/exams).
  • Knowledge of the school examination process.
  • Is willing to work flexibly within scope of overall hours, e.g.occasional evening meetings.

We take part in the annual Speakers’ Trust event and have been successful in reaching the final in recent years. Pupils gain from a wealth of opportunities offered including leadership opportunities in every year group. In 2022, 100% of pupils took part in an extended learning opportunity.
