Exams Invigilator job summary

We are seeking to recruit new Exam Invigilators to work with the existing team in the running of all the internal and public examinations.

Key responsibilities

  • Setting up examination rooms;
  • Ensuring correct exam processes are followed;
  • Monitoring students during exams to ensure that JCQ exam regulations are adhered to and students can perform to their best ability;
  • Collecting papers and completing any necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • You will be reliable, flexible and readily available during exam periods;
  • You will need to have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills including the ability to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people;
  • You must be able to work effectively both on your own and within a team;
  • You will be confident and have a reassuring presence to candidates in the exam room;
  • You will need to have good spoken and written English and basic IT skills;
  • Experience of invigilation is not required as full training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided.

Contract

The main exam periods are January-March (mocks) and May-June (GCSEs and A-levels). This is a Casual contract and the exact hours of work will be by negotiation.
