Are you an inspirational and committed leader ready to make a real difference in two small, rural schools?

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Deputy Headteacher to work across Lydbury North and Onny Primary Schools, supporting our Executive Headteacher in delivering an ambitious, inclusive and high-quality education for all pupils.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership responsibilities with a significant teaching commitment, offering the chance to remain closely connected to classroom practice while shaping whole-school improvement.

About the Role

  • 4 days teaching Key Stage 2 at Lydbury North Primary School
  • 1 day leadership time supporting both schools
  • Key member of the senior leadership team across both settings
  • Supporting the Executive Headteacher with the strategic and operational leadership of both schools

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement, while helping to build a strong, inclusive and forward-thinking school community.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead whole school curriculum development across both schools
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, using data and evidence to drive improvement
  • Support the Executive Headteacher with school development planning, staffing and budget oversight
  • Promote a supportive, inclusive and high-expectations culture for all pupils and staff
  • Lead and develop a core subject area and enrichment opportunities [
  • Manage and support staff performance, including delivering high-quality CPD
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) across both schools
  • Champion trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour approaches
  • Build strong relationships with families, governors and the wider community
  • Support early career teachers and mentoring
