Executive Head Teacher job summary
The Stoke Hill Federation in Exeter is seeking an Executive Head Teacher to start in September 2021 following the retirement of our longstanding and much valued outgoing head teachers of our thriving Infant & Nursery and Junior Schools.
The Federation is taking the exciting opportunity that this presents to recruit an inspirational, highly talented Executive Head Teacher to build on the excellent work done by the current headteachers and to bring our schools and nursery school even closer together, whilst celebrating all that they individually have to offer.
Although based in the city, the school benefits from being situated on a large area of land across two sites with the juniors on one site and the infants and nursery on the other. It includes large playing fields, gardens for the foundation and nursery children, wooded areas and a wildlife garden. There is a significant emphasis in the curriculum placed on engaging with the natural world and the importance of this to wellbeing.
The successful person will care about the achievement and developments of every child in our school community, provide creative and innovative leadership to empower and inspire staff, promote a greater sense of ‘one school two sites’ and continue to develop a broad and rich curriculum.
In return we offer you an experienced, hardworking, dedicated and welcoming staff team who are committed to the schools’ further improvement; a school with a real sense of community, where everyone works together to achieve the best outcomes for children; excellent, inquisitive and happy pupils; and strong links with other local schools.
Exeter offers the opportunity for an outstanding quality of life. A modern and thriving city, Exeter is only 25 minutes from the coast and within striking distance of Dartmoor. The rich and vibrant countryside is within minutes of the Stoke Hill Federation itself.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We follow full safer recruitment procedures, and this role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure. Please note shortlisted candidates are required to complete a disclosure form and we will seek references at this stage. Our safeguarding and child protection policy is available on our website.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
