What skills and experience we're looking for

Sheffield South East Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join Wybourn Community Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference for children who require specialist support in their education.

The Hubs at Wybourn Community Primary School provide specialist support for pupils in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 and 2. Their primary areas of need are Speech and Language and Social Communication. These provisions are designed for children with significant additional needs, some of them have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) issued by the Local Authority.

Our hubs offer a nurturing and structured environment where pupils receive tailored support to help them thrive both academically and emotionally. Children access learning within the hubs for a substantial part of the week, alongside planned integration opportunities in their mainstream classrooms.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning tailored to individual needs.
  • Implement strategies that promote emotional regulation, social communication, and positive relationships.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
  • Contribute to the development of bespoke curriculum plans and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records and support the review of EHCP targets.
  • Experience of supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs is essential.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and resilient teacher who has high expectations for all pupils, with direct experience of working with Special Educational needs. The successful candidate will be creative, inspirational and has the ability to make learning purposeful and relevant – helping our children to raise their aspirations and believe in their own abilities to succeed and shine. The ability to communicate clearly and build effective relationships with all involved in a child’s education is essential.
