Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) SCP 9 -12 30.5 hrs per week

Term Time Only plus 3 Inset Training Days across the academic year (38.6 working weeks / 44.39 paid weeks)

Mon - Thurs 8.30am to 3.30pm and Fri - 8.30am to 1.30pm

Fixed term from 01/03/2026 to 31/08/2028

We are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support upper key stage 2 classes and group work and specifically SEN children within the class. They will assist with the planning preparation and development of work programmes as well as prepare resources to support a range of learning activities.

You would work with small groups or individual pupils, especially those with SEN to enable learning, organise and maintain the learning environment and takes responsibility for aspects of class organisation, administration and displays.

This role would include monitoring, evaluating and recording pupil progress and developing reports, as directed. HLTA’s provide support to the teacher by accompanying pupils on offsite activities, work as part of a team to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of pupils enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.

You would contribute to curriculum and classroom planning, informally and at meetings. Maintain confidentiality is a must. Awareness of safeguarding protocol is also essential.
