Hours: 9 hours a week in the afternoon, 39 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Working pattern: Monday, Wednesday, Friday -03:00pm - 06:00pm

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • To maintain a duty of care for all children that attend the Extended Services wrap Around Care
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with children and Extended Services provision teams.
  • To maintain communication with the Extended Services Support Lead, and Deputy Lead.
  • To provide care and encouragement to children and young people with disabilities or special educational needs, supporting them to participate in activities and liaising, if required, with parents / carers / other professionals as appropriate.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Ideal candidates will have experience of working with children and be committed to providing our pupils with a safe and enjoyable childcare environment.
  • Experience of working with children in a play, childcare or out of school setting is essential.
  • Level 2 NVQ or CACHE or working towards is desirable.
  • Ability to create and inspirational and stimulating child centred play and care environment.
  • Excellent communication (written & oral) and interaction skills with child, parents and colleagues

Set in beautiful tree-lined grounds and surrounded on three sides by playing fields belonging to Uppingham School, Leighfield Academy provides a learning environment which is at once stimulating, pleasant and peaceful.

The school serves the Southern Half of Uppingham and a number of surrounding villages. Namely Belton in Rutland, Glaston, Lyddington, Seaton, Stoke Dry, Thorpe by Water, and Wardley.
