EYFS 1:1 Learning Support job summary

Northgate Primary School are seeking an efficient, highly organised and motivated individual specialising in supporting early development.

We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, caring, enthusiastic and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with a specific pupil in one of our Reception classes. The child will have special educational needs and be working significantly below age-related expectations.

This support role will be on a fixed term, term time only basis until July 2022 or until funding ceases or the child leaves the school. The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.30am to 3.30pm (some flexibility in hours can be discussed).

You will require patience, flexibility and be committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work closely with the class teacher, the SENDCo, the SEN team and external advisors as well as being confident to work independently, as required. You should be keen to learn, be able to work on your own initiative, and carry out advice consistently.

The successful candidate will have a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (C or above) and a high standard of written and spoken English.
