What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Giles CE Primary School for an inspirational class teacher to work in our vibrant, welcoming and caring village school. We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our supportive and committed team, who is able to support the ethos of our distinctively Christian school. For your application to be successful, you will be able to offer:
* good classroom practice with proven experience of EYFS and/or the national curriculum including the teaching of phonics;
* a clear understanding of EYFS assessment practices including observations, tracking and challenging progress;
* high expectations of behaviour and culture which motivate and inspire both children and adults with a sense of fun, creativity and an appetite for learning;
*good organisational skills and an ability to use own initiative and professional judgement;
*excellent communication and interpersonal behaviour which naturally engages pupils, parents, staff and the community;
*a strong understanding of strategies to raise pupil attainment and embed purposeful assessment in everyday classroom practice; and
* a commitment to career progression, professional development and the wider life of the school including extracurricular activities.
What the school offers its staff
St Giles Primary School is a fantastic school with a supportive and committed community. It is a small rural primary school situation in the village of Horsted Keynes. We are tucked away on a large site behind St Giles Church. We are fortunate to have a spacious building, large playground with a trim trail, a wooded area and a field. Children benefit from Forest School Sessions and specialist music, PE and French teaching. We are very proud to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that brings out the best in every child, offering a wide range of sporting and extra-curricular activities to enhance the learning experience of our children. We are an inclusive school with higher than average numbers of SEND pupils.
