Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 1.0 FTE, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2027 (Monday to Friday)
Hemyock Primary School is seeking to recruit a EYFS Lead Teacher to join our team. Our popular school is situated in in the Blackdown Hills in a beautiful rural location which is within easy reach of the M5. The school enjoys extensive grounds, providing a forest school area, sports grounds, a bird hide, pond and gardening patches.

About the Role
As a Teacher, you will deliver high‑quality teaching and learning in line with the Teachers’ Standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Planning, preparing and teaching engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs
Leading by example to secure high standards of behaviour, motivation and achievement
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform planning and target‑setting
Reporting to parents and contributing to school improvement processes
Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with support staff and colleagues across the school
Contributing to performance management, training, and whole‑school initiatives
Upholding school values, behaviour expectations and community ethos
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who can bring positivity, professionalism and a strong commitment to children’s learning.
Essential attributes include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an ECT
Recent successful teaching experience in EYFS, KS1 or KS2
Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of high‑quality teaching and learning
Ability to teach pupils of all abilities and use ICT effectively in lessons
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community
Desirable attributes include:
Experience leading a curriculum area
Excellent ICT skills and ability to contribute to policy development
Experience teaching across multiple primary key stages
Ability to organise extra‑curricular activities
