Hadley Learning Community opened in 2006 and is a purpose built Private Finance Initiative (PFI) school in Telford offering enviable facilities, including large playgrounds, a sports field, AstroTurf pitch, a fabulous main hall, dining facilities and superb ICT facilities. We are further improving our forest school area, assisted by strong partnerships with local businesses to promote outdoor learning. We are proud of our reputation within the local community and as a result we are consistently oversubscribed. We are a proud member of the Learning Community Trust.
Through a process of planned growth, the school currently admits 90 pupils into each year group from Reception to Year 4 with 60 pupils in Year 5-6. Over time, this growth will continue until the school is at its maximum capacity by September 2022.
The facilities within Hadley Learning Community allow for close working between the primary and secondary phases. During Key Stage 2, children become familiar with the Secondary phase building layout and get to know some of the secondary staff who teach them for some lessons. This means that transition from primary to secondary is smooth and the children are well prepared and confident to move to Year 7. The majority of children in Year 6 transfer to Hadley Learning Community Secondary and become excellent buddies for children who are new to Year 7 from other primary schools.
Children enjoy coming to school at Hadley Learning Community and school attendance is consistently good. Staff are vigilant in ensuring children’s health, safety and well-being. The school’s pastoral team stay in close contact with families during any period of absence and can offer wider support to children and families. Children are taught how to keep themselves safe and have strong, trusting relationships with adults in school.
