  • Education and Training

    • Qualified Teacher Status.

    • Evidence of being an excellent classroom practitioner.

    • Experience teaching in Early Years.

    • Experience of working in a Catholic School.

    • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating EYFS practices.

  • Faith Commitment

    • Practising Catholic or demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the ethos and distinctive nature of a Catholic school.

  • Knowledge and Understanding

  • A working knowledge and understanding of:

    • Current practices and strategic developments in primary education.

    • A working knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum.

    • Strategies to promote effective Learning and Teaching.

    • Strategies to develop children’s phonic and reading skills.

    • Understand and use assessment and record keeping as a means of planning for differentiated Teaching and Learning.

    • The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Child Protection/Safeguarding requirements and the Teacher Standards.

    • A working knowledge and understanding of how Religious Education is taught in a Catholic School.

    • A broad range of interests and a commitment to providing a rich curriculum experience for the children.

    • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.

    What the school offers its staff

    St Fidelis is seeking to appoint a new EYFS Leader to determine the strategic development and ensure the delivery of the school’s provision with its nursery and two Reception classes in the London Borough of Bexley.

    The school’s new EYFS Leader will work across the EYFS settings in the school to support the professional development of both teachers and support staff, ensuring that all children have access to great learning opportunities across the settings.

    You will be dedicated to ensuring that all our children receive the very best early years education possible, both within and beyond their classrooms.

    You will have a good understanding of how early childhood development occurs and what role an EYFS setting can play in that development. You will have detailed knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and handbook.
