What skills and experience we're looking for

* Work as a member of the team to ensure a high standard of education provision for pupils

* To be an excellent classroom practitioner and lead by example at all times

* Actively participate in whole school self-evaluation and school improvement planning

* To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

* Undertake duties of a teacher as specified within the school

* Work with colleagues to monitor children’s progress and attainment and continue to raise standards.

* Be responsible for leading and co-ordinating curriculum development, planning, teaching and learning within key stage assessments, to have a thorough grasp of the national curriculum and seek to raise attainment

* Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school

* Develop effective professional relationships with all key stakeholders including colleagues/parents/partners/external bodies and the wider community.

* Demonstrate consistent high standards of personal and professional conduct, acting within the statutory frameworks which set out their professional duties and responsibilities

Leading, Teaching and Learning - specific responsibilities

* To consistently provide high standard teaching, curriculum planning to extend and build pupils’ knowledge.

* Be responsible for the teaching of pupils, developing a stimulating and challenging learning environment which secures effective learning and provides high standards of achievement.

* To have excellent subject knowledge and use imaginative teaching strategies that match individual needs and engage pupils in challenging tasks

* To assist with the development and enhancement of the classroom practices in all curriculum areas

* Ensure that the curriculum is broad and balanced and meets the needs, aptitudes and interest of pupils, promoting successful progression within the key stage

* To work with teachers within the key stage to provide high quality learning setting high expectations and establishing a stimulating environment for pupils.

* To know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements

* Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment, establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies.

* Demonstrate an ambitious vision for the school and strive for high expectations for every pupil by setting high standards and leading by example in all areas of work.

* Ensure that a consistent approach to policies and procedures is adhered to

* Work effectively at all times with the governing body, parents, members of staff and other schools as representative of the school.

* To focus on improving teaching and learning to pursue excellence for the school.

* To effectively manage and deploy support staff, financial and physical resources within the key phase to support the delivery of the curriculum

* Ensure that deadlines are met on a timely basis.

I am privileged to be the CEO of the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust (BFLPT) and to be working with like‐minded headteachers, leaders, staff and board members who understand how important education is to life chances and social mobility. The BFLPT Board is determined to see a high‐performing multi‐academy Trust which delivers exceptional and enriching learning experiences for all its children, young people and staff. There could not be a better time to join our Trust, which includes a diverse and successful range of schools; four Doncaster primary schools, an infant school, an 11-16 secondary school (Hungerhill) and Doncaster University Technical College. Hungerhill School benefited from being a Teaching and National Support school for many years; its legacy of strong collaboration is still recognised today both locally and nationally with strong student outcomes above national averages. Doncaster UTC opened in 2020 in a state-of-the-art building which supports the strong employer-led curriculum designed to create the engineers and technologists of the future. The school has already won several national and local awards and is recognised by Baker Dearing Trust as being one of its flagship schools. More recently we have been awarded a second Free School Bid and the Trust will open a second Doncaster UTC specialising in Green Technologies and Health Care Sciences. We are excited about the future and the many expanding professional development opportunities for our staff.

In September 2021 we implemented a new Primary Knowledge Curriculum in all primary and infant schools and all our schools are heavily invested in the development of a mathematics mastery curriculum and lead on a number of projects supported by the South Yorkshire Maths Hubs.

I am extremely proud that our three latest Ofsted reports have acknowledged our mission to provide all our children and young people with an ambitious, rich, and challenging curriculum. The reports demonstrate that our schools are delivering better student/pupil outcomes by working together, sharing leadership and teacher knowledge and resources. All of this, of course, could not be achieved without our strong body of exceptionally hard-working and committed support staff. This has been testament to the strong investment in staff and pupils; our standards are high, but we take the investment in our staff very seriously.

We are also part of a network of national schools who are reshaping their curriculum, drawing on research and cognitive based science which will ensure all our children make accelerated progress. We employ a number of Ofsted trained consultants across the Trust who are supporting our subject leaders to design and shape the best learning experiences for our young people and in doing so, we are providing very bespoke support and training for teaching staff who want to invest in themselves. We are very proud of our story so far.

Our robust teacher development programmes and associate staff performance management systems allow for internal recognition and support to help encourage colleagues to thrive and develop within role. We are also very clear about reasonable, professional expectations, so that colleagues understand what is required of them, and are confident in their ability to deliver.

We also have many associate staff who are being supported to develop themselves through additional professional courses as we believe this is the hallmark of an outstanding Trust.

The successful candidate will be based at Dunsville Primary School but may be required to work elsewhere within the Trust, as may reasonably be required by the Headteacher/Principal, CEO for the discharge of their duties.

The successful candidate will be based at Dunsville Primary School but may be required to work elsewhere within Trust, as may reasonably be required by the Headteacher/Principal, CEO for the discharge of your duties.

Dunsville Primary School serves the children in our local community and more recently children from outside the catchment area. We offer provision for children from the age of 3 to 11. Currently we have eight classes and a nursery which offers 15-hours provision or 30-hours provision dependent on parental choice. We run a Foundation Stage unit that allows free flow play between Reception and Nursery and an enriched learning environment for children to have first-hand experiences in.

Our vision is to provide “Excellence and Enjoyment” for the children who come to our school. We do this through offering a curriculum for our children that is enriched and designed for them and makes real links to embed skills, knowledge and understanding.

We have high expectations of attainment but are equally passionate about offering care for all of our children as individuals. We care for one another and consider ourselves to all be learners together. We pride ourselves on working with families and offering them and the children pastoral support for a range of needs. Our recent Ofsted inspection graded us as ‘Good’ in all areas:

We promote a love of reading and invest extensively in providing children with books and reading materials that captivate their imaginations and interests. We teach children phonics using Essential Letters & Sounds and develop their understanding of texts using Reciprocal Reading.

We teach Maths using the Maths Mastery approach and provide children with opportunities to discuss their Maths learning using subject specific vocabulary to enable them to take ownership of their learning.
