EYFS Teacher. Part-time, maternity cover. 2 terms in the first instance job summary
• To teach designated pupils and ensure planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting to meet the varying needs of the pupils are met.
• To maintain a positive ethos and core values of the school both inside and outside the classroom.
• To meet with parents and update them regularly on their child’s progress.
• To ensure that new children settle well into school and induction meetings are held for new parents.
Particular Responsibilities:
• To promote safety and well being of the children and young people.
• To teach children according to their individual needs including the planning, preparation and assessment of work in line with the agreed policies and procedures of the school.
• To monitor and be responsible for the use of teaching resources provided for the class.
• To supervise the work of the adult support in class.
• To implement and maintain the discipline policy of the school.
• To communicate and cooperate with specialists from outside agencies.
• To liaise with the Headteacher and EYFS leader on the development of the Foundation Curriculum.
• To attend staff meetings and training where and when appropriate.
Key Tasks:
• Administrative duties such as marking of the class register.
• The planning of work matched to the individual needs of the children and within the school’s agreed policies of the school.
• The assessment and recording of pupil’s achievements and progress within the statutory requirements and those of the school’s assessment policy.
• Contributions to meetings, discussions and management systems necessary to ensure the coordination of work of the school as a whole.
• Setting of realistic but challenging pupil targets for improvement.
• Understand and use appropriate assessment tools for recording attainment and the ability to explain the data.
