Faculty Lead of Humanities and Languages job summary

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide strategic leadership across Geography, History, Religious Studies and Modern Foreign Languages, driving curriculum excellence, raising outcomes and developing a high-performing team.

  • Lead, inspire and line manage middle leaders and teaching staff across the faculty
  • Shape and deliver an ambitious, inclusive and well-sequenced EBacc curriculum
  • Monitor performance data and implement strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Align subject intent and provision with the school vision: We Cooperate, We Pioneer, We Belong
  • Coach and develop colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practice
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 within your specialism
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement, enrichment and leadership initiatives
  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school community

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a passionate and resilient leader who can motivate others and secure strong outcomes for all learners.

  • Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a relevant humanities or languages degree
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with a track record of strong GCSE results
  • Experience leading or developing others and improving teaching and learning
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, implementation and impact
  • Skilled in using assessment and data to inform improvement strategies
  • Committed to inclusion, high expectations and removing barriers to success
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Eager to contribute to the wider life and values of the school
