Faculty Leader for Creative and Applied Learning (DT, Art and Performing Arts) – Design Technology Specialism

Do you have a passion for empowering students to think creatively, solve real world problems, and develop the technical skills needed to design, make and evaluate high‑quality outcomes?

Do you want to play a leading role in shaping an ambitious Creative and Applied Learning curriculum, developing students’ ability to apply knowledge, work iteratively, use tools and technologies safely, and think critically about design and manufacture?

Are you an inspirational Design Technology teacher and leader with excellent subject knowledge, the ability to motivate others, and a firm commitment to raising attainment and achievement for all students?

 

If so, we invite you to join us and provide strategic leadership for Creative and Applied Learning, with a Design Technology specialism, shaping curriculum, pedagogy, and outcomes across the school.

This role is distinctive in its opportunity to shape a high‑quality, ambitious and coherently sequenced Creative and Applied Learning curriculum, within a supportive and forward‑thinking faculty.

As Faculty Leader, with a Design Technology specialism, you will work closely with colleagues across creative and applied subjects to ensure strong progression, high technical standards, and engaging teaching that fosters creativity, innovation, problem‑solving and resilience. You will influence teaching practice, curriculum development and student outcomes, helping students to apply knowledge and skills in meaningful contexts while preparing them for future education, employment or training.

This position offers the opportunity to influence and elevate the creative and applied direction of the curriculum, working in partnership with colleagues who bring a range of creative specialisms and who inspire students to engage purposefully with design, technology and creative learning, enabling them to see possibilities beyond the expected.
