The Olney & Lavendon Learning Alliance (OLLA) is proud to be part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) family of schools who inspire all of our futures through learning together.  At IFtL we are never alone.  We know we are stronger together – one united family striving for excellence for all, in everything we do.

OLLA is a collaboration between Olney Middle School, Olney Infant Academy, and Lavendon School. This role will be based across all three schools, with the safeguarding office located at Olney Middle School.

The post holder will pro-actively and positively engage parents/carers, children and their families in children’s learning and development, ensuring emotional and academic needs are being met, with longer-term life chances being enhanced. This will involve early help support for families, breaking down barriers presented by complex issues including poor attendance, low levels of engagement and limited access to community resources.

Responsibilities will also include supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with day-to-day safeguarding and child protection across the school (including online safety and understanding the filtering and monitoring systems in place). They will take part in contributing to the assessment of children and family needs, inter-agency referrals/meetings, and support other members of staff on child welfare and safeguarding matters.

Our children and young people come from a wide range of backgrounds, and so do our colleagues. We aim to reflect and celebrate diversity in our workplace in order to create an inclusive culture that adds real value to our vision of inspiring the futures of us all through learning together.

Inspiring Futures through Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
