What skills and experience we're looking for

Goodwin Academy are seeking an experienced Family Liaison Officer to join our dedicated team in providing support to our students. The successful candidate will work alongside the Attendance Improvement Coordinator and Designated Safeguarding Team, focusing on preventative and early intervention activities to promote student wellbeing and reduce persistent and severe absence.

Our Family Liaison Officer will be required to work with students across the Academy to ensure that students’ needs do not become a barrier to learning and making progress. You will be required to understand individual students’ needs and work with subject teachers so that they can develop learning programmes appropriate to the needs of those students

What you will need to succeed:

  • Identify students and families of concern or those needing additional support through interpreting attendance and safeguarding.
  • Build positive relationships with families and students to enable them to work effectively alongside the school and other statutory providers.
  • Work with individuals and groups of students to improve attendance to school and lessons.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that all documentation relating to interventions is recorded and filed appropriately.

The Family Liaison Officer will ensure the voice of the child is promoted and the needs of the child are considered first in line with the Trust and Academy ethos to ensure that all students achieve their very best.
