Make a Real Difference: Family Liaison Officer opportunity at Westlands Primary School in Sittingbourne.
Westlands Primary School, a vibrant and supportive primary school in Sittingbourne, is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Family Liaison Officer to join our dedicated team. This rewarding role focusses on fostering strong relationships with parents and carers, providing crucial early intervention and support to enhance both their engagement with the school and their children's learning journey.
As our Family Liaison Officer, you will:
- Build positive relationships with families, encouraging open communication between home and school.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure effective dialogue about pupil progress.
- Offer advice and guidance to empower parents and carers in their parenting roles.
- Share valuable information on childcare, parenting skills, and child well-being, including emotional needs, discipline, healthy eating, and attendance.
- Work with families to address attendance concerns and implement effective strategies.
- Contribute to action plans and provide individual casework support in collaboration with the Headteacher
- Promote parental involvement through school activities and by delivering family-focused initiatives.
- Signpost families to relevant community resources and external agencies.
- Liaise with other support agencies and facilitate referrals as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure effective information sharing within the school.
- Continue to enhance our ‘Thrive family hub’ and support parents in different workshops.
