Part-time (up to 35 hours per week over 5 days, fewer days or hours will be considered)

Are you passionate about supporting families, building positive relationships, and helping children thrive? Elmlea Schools are looking for a dedicated Parent / Family Link Worker at HLTA level to strengthen our partnership with families and support pupils’ wellbeing, attendance, and learning.

As part of our inclusive and nurturing community — where Kindness, Respect, and Community are at the heart of all we do — you will work closely with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all children.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong relationships with parents/carers and pupils to support engagement and wellbeing.
  • Supporting attendance, behaviour, and family needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Signposting and liaising with external services to help families access support.
  • Delivering learning activities and targeted support in line with HLTA standards.
  • Promoting the school’s values and inclusive ethos through effective communication and partnership.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold HLTA status (or equivalent experience)
  • Have experience working with children and families, ideally in a school or community setting
  • Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and a child-centred approach
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals
  • Be empathetic, organised, and able to manage sensitive situations confidently
