Family Safeguarding Officer Kingston Park Academy, Worksop

Job description

Kingston Park Academy are looking to appoint a Family Safeguarding Officer to take a lead role in providing a high quality and effective safeguarding and pastoral support across the academy, maintaining accurate records and working with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are in place to support pupils and their families. You will support learning in the classroom or in small groups, in line with the duties of a Teaching Assistant.

Salary: Grade G points 20 – 24 (£25,295 to £27,905) full time equivalent, pro rata

Hours: 20 hours per week / 5 days per week / Term Time only + 5 days (39 weeks) / Permanent

Essential educational requirements

A recognised and relevant professional qualification (e.g. NVQ3) and/or equivalent practical work experience
GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English

DSL Qualification

Essential skills and experience

Working knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection
Good knowledge of relevant legislation
Willingness and ability to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and/or training for development in this post.
Good communication skills both oral and written, especially with children
Good ICT skills
Be well-organised and efficient
An ability to work constructively as part of a team
An open, honest and transparent approach
A customer service ethos
