Family Support and Attendance Officer job summary

Rowan Gate is a continually evolving and highly successful primary school for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. We are an inclusive school that, through challenging and fun opportunities and within a safe, secure and stimulating , aims to meet the education and care needs of our SEN pupils.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to join our family support team.

This is a combined family support and attendance role where the successful candidate will undertake family support responsibilities such as: ensuring our safeguarding duties are maintained, promoting the best interest of the pupils and working in partnership with appropriate agencies to support pupils and families overcome any challenges. In addition the successful candidate will have attendance responsibilities which will include accurate completion of attendance registers, maintaining records of communication with parents/carers and ensuring all attendance returns are managed accordingly.

This is a part-time permanent role working 39 weeks (38 weeks term time +5 days training), Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. As with all our vacancies, successful candidates should be able and willing to work at any of our sites or the satellite classes, travel between sites may be necessary on a frequent basis.

Appointments will also be subject to a satisfactory medical assessment and satisfactory references from previous employers, among other checks. In addition, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, we are also required to carry out online searches for all successfully shortlisted candidates.
