What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the local community by working collaboratively with key partners to support families with a wide range of needs. The successful candidate will help families address identified challenges, build resilience, and achieve sustainable positive change.

The Family Support Worker will play a central role in coordinating tailored packages of support, often acting as the lead professional and delivering proven, evidence-based interventions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can build strong, trusting relationships with families while maintaining clear professional boundaries. If you are committed to empowering families and improving outcomes for children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

Addressing attendance concerns would form a large part of the role. The school is a large secondary setting with a high proportion of vulnerable pupils, including those eligible for free school meals and pupils with SEND, both of which have a significant impact on attendance outcomes. Overall attendance remains below that of similar schools, and persistent absence is also above average in the borough. The successful candidate will help to identify barriers to attendance and apply targeted intervention to support pupils to be successful.
