Saxmundham Primary is a busy and exciting school (Ofsted rated Good in all areas). We are a thriving 3-11 years primary school with an in-school Nursery and a PAN of 45. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for our pupils, with some mixed-aged classes to support their individual learning needs. We are committed to delivering an exceptional education that prepares our young learners for the next stage of their academic journey.

All children at our school have a wide range of opportunities available to them to be involved in school life. The school council, eco council, sports teams, choir and annual performances provide a wealth of activities beyond everyday lessons.

Saxmundham Primary School is seeking to appoint a Family Welfare Assistant who will form part of the Welfare Team. The team are responsible for ensuring that children are supported through accessing all relevant in-school and external programmes and agencies. The Family Welfare Assistant’s primary role is to support children to attend school and to remove any barriers for children attending school. This will include working closely with families, signposting to local services and working through a graduated response supporting families to ensure child(ren) access their right to a full education.

We are proud to be part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Farlingaye High School, Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School, Castle East School, Holbrook High School, EAST SCITT and five other primary schools Wickham Market, Easton, Aldeburgh, Leiston and Kyson with whom we work closely with.

We are a Teaching School Hub partner, which allows us to improve teaching and learning on a continuous basis. We are also extremely pleased to have launched our own teacher training provider: EAST SCITT. This allows us to award QTS and also QTS + PGCE Programmes within both Primary and Secondary schools.
