Cheadle Hulme High School are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing Female PE Teacher to join our thriving PE Department. Whether you’re an Early Career Teacher or an experienced Teacher, we welcome individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality, engaging PE lessons that foster curiosity and academic success. We are open to part-time working for this position.

The PE curriculum at Cheadle Hulme High School is broad and balanced, allowing students to develop the knowledge and skills to be physically active and healthy now and in later life. Our curriculum will promote a love of physical activity and the confidence to participate. The curriculum will also promote the academic side of the subject, closely linking practical and academic concepts to ensure Powerful Knowledge is accessed by all. Students will be presented with intellectual and physical challenges, which they will work as a team to overcome while demonstrating the trust qualities. We believe Sportspersonship should be visible in all lessons, with students abiding by rules, being humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is the founder school of the Laurus Trust. We are a hugely oversubscribed school with a reputation locally, and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and a determination to ensure that every child succeeds. CHHS was judged Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015.

In the 2022 Progress 8 Headline measure, CHHS came in the top 20% of schools nationally with a figure of +0.5, compared to the national figure -0.03. Overall, 85% of our students were awarded a grade 4 or higher in English and Maths, and 67% a grade 5 or higher. Plus, an impressive 44% of all grades were at 7-9 and 96 students achieved 5 or more grades at 7+.

In 2022 the progress of our disadvantaged students was Progress 8 +0.3, the national figure is -0.55. Our disadvantaged students make more progress than their non- disadvantaged peers nationally.

In 2022, 87% of students progressed to university with 65% studying at one of the prestigious Russell group universities. 78% of students went to their first choice university. In addition, 5 students have taken up Degree Apprenticeships.

We are delighted that CHHS is regularly named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times annual Parent Power Surveys.

CHHS became an 11-18 school in September 2013, with approximately 1664 students on roll. Our dedicated Sixth Form Centre opened in September 2014. We are the founder school of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with an outstanding academic record.

CHHS has a strong commitment to continued professional development of all staff. The professional learning opportunities in school and beyond enable staff to engage in various internal communities of professional development. There is support given to staff who are undertaking ECT, Masters, CTeach and NPQ programmes. Many of our staff have also joined other external subject networks and professional development, such as Doctor of Education programmes.

Cheadle Hulme is a pleasant residential suburb on the south western edge of the Borough of Stockport and about eleven miles south of the centre of Manchester.
