Field Technician job summary

Join a forward-thinking trust at an exciting stage of development

The CAM Academy Trust is entering an exciting new phase of digital innovation and growth. We are passionate about advancing the use of technology in education — leading the way in cloud computing, one-to-one device programmes, and innovative learning environments across our family of schools.

As we continue to expand our IT infrastructure and enhance the digital experience for staff and pupils, we are looking for a Field Technician to join our dynamic and supportive IT team.

As a Field Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality IT support across our schools. You’ll be the first point of contact for IT support in our primary schools, and you’ll also provide assistance to our secondary schools when needed.

This is a varied and rewarding role — from resolving daily technical issues to supporting Trust-wide IT projects and system rollouts. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of our computer equipment, networks, and online services such as Microsoft 365, contributing directly to the success of our schools’ digital learning environments.

As you’ll be travelling between sites, a car and a full driving licence are essential.

We’re looking for someone who is:

Enthusiastic about technology and eager to learn new skills.

A problem-solver with strong communication and customer service skills.

Able to manage their time effectively and work independently across multiple sites.

Flexible, proactive, and a true team player.

Previous experience in an IT support or technician role would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from candidates with the right technical aptitude and a passion for learning.

Why join The CAM Academy Trust?

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation that is genuinely transforming how technology supports education.

You’ll join a collaborative, growing team where innovation is encouraged, development is supported, and your work will have a direct impact on pupils and staff across our schools.
