Finance Administrator job summary
North Star Academy Trust is a small multi-academy trust that was set up with the ambition to improve the SEND provision in the South West and provide as many young people as possible with a bespoke, specialist education that is tailored to each individual’s needs. We are a small but growing Trust, we currently consist of four schools and an Outreach team.
We are looking to appoint a Finance Administrator to join our Central team dealing with day-to-day finance duties and administration. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working within a finance environment, the ability to work in a friendly and professional manner with strong planning, organisational and communication skills. This post will be based at our secondary school, North Star 240°, although it may involve work at the other schools in the Trust on occasion.
As Finance Administrator, you will:
- Process all purchase orders and invoices
- Ensure that transactions are processed promptly and in line with the Trusts financial policy
- Develop and maintain effective financial administration systems in order to provide an efficient support service to all budget holders within the Trust
- Maintain an efficient filing and record system
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong background in finance or administration
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Good planning and organising skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Qualified at Grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English
- Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
You will be required to work 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per annum. This is a permanent position.
