Finance Assistant (apprenticeships welcomed) job summary

Holy Cross Catholic Multi Academy Company is located in Coventry and consists of two secondary schools, five primary schools and a small central office team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Assistant to work in our busy central office team, covering a period of maternity leave for 1 year.

Applications are invited from candidates who have excellent finance, administrative and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and the dedication and enthusiasm to be part of a thoroughly committed team.

We welcome applications from candidates who are interested in undertaking this role via an apprenticeship route as the role would lend itself well to the AAT Level 2 or 3 accountancy qualification.

The successful applicant must be flexible and show initiative with an excellent understanding of processing financial information. Applicants must be computer literate and proficient with the use of Word and Excel.

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide support to the central team and schools with purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Support the central team and individual schools with month end and year end procedures
  • Contribute towards the efficient functioning the MAC central finance service.
  • Work within established procedures and guidelines and prioritise their day to day work.

Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Study towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. AAT) will be encouraged and supported for the right candidate

The Holy Cross Catholic MAC Head Office is based on St Augustine’s school site, in Radford, Coventry. We are located within easy access of all areas of Coventry and commutable from surrounding areas such as Birmingham, Solihull, Leamington Spa and Sutton Coldfield.
