Finance Business Partner
Salary: NJC Point 35-39 (£46,142 - £50,269 FTE)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Flexible Hybrid Working
Hours: Full time, (37 hours, 52 weeks per year) preferred but part time applications will also be considered.
Excalibur Academies Trust is seeking two highly motivated Finance Business Partners to join our central finance team. These are pivotal roles, working collaboratively with the Director of Finance and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to provide strategic financial support across a cluster of schools across two hubs Bristol and Wiltshire/Berkshire.
About the Role
As Finance Business Partner, you will:
Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure financial sustainability.
Provide expert financial advice to Principals, senior leaders, and school staff, enabling informed decision‑making.
Partner with Trust teams across Estates, HR, and IT to deliver integrated support.
Track and analyse financial performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
Manage school budgets, ensuring staffing and resource decisions align with strategic priorities.
Oversee financial operations including payroll reconciliations, order processing, accounts payable, and month end adjustments.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who brings:
A recognised financial qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, CSBM, DSBM) or equivalent relevant experience.
Proven experience in budgeting, reporting, and financial management systems.
Strong organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
The ability to influence, motivate, and build trusted relationships with both finance and non‑finance colleagues of varying levels of seniority.
High IT competence particularly in Excel and MS Office.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development.
Experience within the education or MAT sector is desirable but not essential.
