What skills and experience we're looking for
Seven Hills School is a School for young people 11 – 19 years old. All students have learning difficulties, many have associated difficulties relating to communication, sensory, physical and or medical disabilities.
The main school is on located on Granville Road, we also have a large post 16 provision based at The Bridge, which is a site on the Talbot/Newfield campus in collaboration with Talbot School.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Finance and Facilities Manager who has the skills to lead the school in the next phase of our innovation and development. This role is a newly formed appointment and requires an exceptional individual who is enthusiastic, efficient and highly organised. You should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts and finance, preferably in a school setting, be conversant with and competent in the use of FMS financial accounting software, and be qualified to NVQ 4, degree, or have an equivalent qualification (eg Certificate in School Business Management) Working closely with the Headteacher, the post holder will be required to support the Senior Leadership Team in its aims and objectives for the school.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work from home, have flexible working hours to meet the needs of the school, and be able to take up to 5 days holiday during term time.
This role will require you to:
- Lead others in providing outstanding financial and administration support to the school
- Provide effective line management for some administration staff
- Alongside the Premises Manager, take the lead role in the Health and Safety monitoring for the whole school
- Report to the Headteacher and Governors on financial matters and in relation to key areas of responsibility
- Lead on income generation for the school including bids and fundraising
- Take a pro-active role in liaising with the Headteacher to affect budget efficiencies
Working in a busy environment it is essential that you are a 'people person', with outstanding interpersonal skills, exceptional communication and IT skills and the ability to deal professionally with all of the schools’ stakeholders, including pupils, visitors, school governors and parents. This role is suited to someone who has experience of line managing, enjoys problem solving and has the ability to multi-task whilst keeping a positive attitude at all times. You will need to be friendly, approachable and have high professional standards, with a willingness to show initiative in order to improve practices.

Seven Hills School is a co-educational secondary special school co-located with a Catholic High School near the centre of the city. We cater for pupils from 11 to 19 years of age. The school is maintained by Sheffield Local Authority (LA). All pupils have learning difficulties and many have other associated difficulties relating to communication, behaviour, sensory, physical and/or medical disabilities. In common with many other special schools, pupils admitted have increasingly complex needs. A high proportion of pupils are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Approximately 25% of pupils are from an ethnic minority background.
