Finance Manager job summary

Greenleas School is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to support our Business Manager in all aspects of financial management, accounts and compliance.  You will lead our Finance Team and play a significant role in our wider Office Team.   You will manage our Finance Assistants, ensure that all statutory returns are made in an accurate and timely manner and all financial reconciliations are correct.  You will prepare our month, quarter, year-end and VAT reports and be responsible for sales ledger and credit control.   We generate significant income from our non-statutory Early Years provision which includes two successful pre-schools, two Before and After-school Clubs, and lettings.  You will be responsible for managing the invoicing, debt management and returns for these services.  Additionally you will look after aspects of HR related to finance, including adding new contracts and checking the payroll.

This is an exciting and varied role, no two days are the same so we are looking for team players who are motivated and flexible in their attitude.   If you enjoy working with figures, being busy, and working with a supportive team then this is the job for you.

Greenleas is a two-site school in Leighton Buzzard providing education to nearly 700 children aged 2-9 years.   We expect all our staff to model our values and strive for ‘excellence, enrichment and enjoyment’ and are committed to providing training and opportunities for all staff to do so.   Our Office Team is outstanding and work closely to deliver exemplary   service to our internal and external clients.

This permanent position is for 37 hours per week 52 weeks a year, we may consider term time working plus 3-6 weeks.

We are a two-site school in the market town of Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. We have over five hundred and sixty main school pupils in addition to those attending our Early Years provision which brings our total number to nearly seven hundred.
