The role
North Oxfordshire Academy are seeking to appoint a finance professional to lead and manage the Finance function. The main purpose of the role is to lead the Finance team on planning and budgeting, to manage all financial and accounting operations, systems, controls and reporting, to manage payroll, and to manage the Finance team.
This is a permanent role working term time plus 3 weeks, 30 hours a week. Hours of work 9am – 3pm, Monday – Friday.
You will be responsible for monitoring the overall finances of the school, prepare and help give reports to governors, monitor budgets, monitor payroll and ensure payments are made to providers.
About You
The successful applicant is likely to have experience in a similar role, not necessarily in the education sector, that is looking for an opportunity to develop and grow.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in school finance and would suit either someone already experienced within education or looking to make their first move to this sector.
The successful candidate will have experience of:
Financial management including budget setting and monitoring
Planning, purchasing, and managing resources
Payroll knowledge
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Appropriate level of awareness in data protection, security and confidentiality
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Able to work on own initiative with good time management and organisational skills
Ability to work well as part of team environment
Desirable skills and qualities
Experience of working in a school environment
Certificate of School Business Management or accountancy qualifications
