Finance Manager job summary

Finance Manager

Advantage Schools Trust is seeking to appoint a dedicated and organised Finance Manager to join our strong and welcoming team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be an integral part of the Central Finance Team ensuring communication to the schools on Trust policy and expectations.

You will play a crucial role in supporting a number of academies within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). Your primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes across the various academies. You will work closely with school leaders, and central finance teams to ensure the effective management of financial resources and that financial decisions align with the strategic goals of the MAT.

The successful candidate will have

  • Extensive experience of working within a financial role (Ideally financial roles within Education)
  • Experience of budget monitoring, purchasing and reporting
  • Experience with financial and other IT packages
  • Strong IT skills and be an advanced Excel user
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads which continually change
  • An understanding of a Financial Manager role and will be able to work to tight deadlines delivering results when required
  • A great attitude and positive outlook
  • A commitment to the aims and values of Advantage Schools

JOB SPECIFICS

Start Date: 5th January 2026

Salary: AS 29-31 FTE £40,172-£42,081 dependent on experience & qualifications

Job Role: Permanent, Full-time, 52 weeks per year, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (part time/term time would be considered for the right candidate)

Location: Based at Advantage Schools Central Office - The Vale Academy LU5 4QP (expectation to travel to schools on weekly basis)
