Finance Officer job summary

The Norton Knatchbull School is looking for a proactive and result-oriented Finance Officer to support and enhance the finance function of the School. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the financial sustainability and success of a school committed to delivering high-quality education.

As Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Officer in delivering efficient and effective financial operations. You will assist with the development and organisation of financial processes within the school to enhance student learning and teacher efficiency, in accordance with all school and statutory policies and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and process accurate accounting records
  • Support financial reporting and budget monitoring
  • Assist with the development and implementation of financial systems
  • Provide financial support to teaching and support staff

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ideally working towards or aspiring to an accounting qualification (AAT Level or higher)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

The working hours are typically 8am-4pm with the potential for flexibility. The role is all year round, 4 days per week and is paid on KS D £26,393 per annum / £21,114.40 pro-rata (0.8 FTE).
