FIRST AID SUPPORT OFFICER

(Part-Time, 1 Day per Week)

Hours: 08:00am - 04:00pm (Term-time only)

Salary: KS B - £25,126 FTE (£4,439.76 pro-rata)

Start Date: Immediate

This is a permanent position for 1 day per week on Fridays.

The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking a calm, compassionate and organised individual to join our school as a First Aid Support Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our students and should be confident working independently.

First Aid at Work training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic first aid to students and staff, contacting parents, next of kin, or emergency services as appropriate.
  • Monitor and maintain the student Medical Room to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Ensure healthcare plans are in place and reviewed for relevant students.
  • Communicate medical, health, and wellbeing needs to relevant staff.
  • Safely store and monitor student medication, ensuring it is in date and accessible when needed.
  • Keep all first aiders informed of students with medical or wellbeing needs.
  • Coordinate the administration of vaccinations, including managing letters and parental consent forms, and liaising with internal and external colleagues.
