First Federation Trust - Senior Educational Psychologist job summary

The First Federation , a Multi Academy Trust of 21 primary schools are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Educational Psychologist to contribute to our new inclusion team. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to take a lead on service developments and project work, as well as contributing towards Trust wide work.

The post will work as part of Inclusion team to support children and young people, educational settings and families across the Trust We are committed to early intervention and preventative working, including a focus on training and project work. We are excited to offer a dedicated psychological consultation service for schools and settings. Our aim is to ensure that psychology is accessible for schools and settings, families, and children and young people across the Trust.

The post will provide leadership and management to the Educational Psychology Service, making a leading contribution to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of high quality educational psychology services for children/young people and families in our schools/settings and the wider community.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A demonstrative level of experience of working with children and their families of the relevant age in a learning environment
  • Extensive and successful experience as a practitioner
  • Experience of multi-agency working, coupled with a positive approach to networking and co-operative working with other departments, services and agencies
  • Knowledge & understanding of a range of psychological theories.
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development relevant to the post
  • Experience of working within a Local Authority setting

You will have a good understanding of:

  • the key legislation and government guidance that supports SEN
  • current issues in the field of special educational needs & school improvement, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practice
  • child & adolescent development & principles of applied psychology
  • relevant trends in education

You will have:

  • the communication skills to build highly effective and cohesive staff teams
  • the ability to use data to evaluate effectiveness of provision and strategy
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • energy, enthusiasm and the ability to demonstrate initiative and independence on a daily basis
  • the ability to inspire, motivate and lead adults to improve outcomes for children
  • organisational skills to ensure plans are communicated and delivered to the highest possible standard.
