Food Technology Technician job summary

We are looking for a Food Technology Technician who can provide experience and support in the Food Technology Department.

About The Role:

As an enthusiastic and proactive team member you will:

  • Assist teaching staff in providing a safe, clean and supportive environment for all within the lesson.
  • Provide technical and safety support to the department, through the preparation of tools, equipment and materials for lessons.
  • Work directly with students during practical lessons, offering guidance and support as needed
  • Work closely with teaching staff to support, develop and further extend the work of the department and the experiences of the students.

About You:

  • You'll be a clear communicator who is passionate about ensuring the best learning experience for all students
  • You'll be a quick learner, with a positive attitude to continual improvement
  • You'll be comfortable working in a busy Food Technology room with Students ranging from Year 7 to Year 11.
  • You will have experience in a similar practical role/industry

Key terms:

  • Hours: 12.5 per week. Wednesdays and Fridays 08.15 - 15.00 (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break)

  • Remuneration: The Essex Schools’ Local Government Scale 3, Point 5 (within ranges 5-6). FTE £25,583 gross per annum, actual £7,409 gross per annum. Figures include an element of holiday pay.
