Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a permanent, part-time Forest Schools Leader
based at Ivy Lane School.
Working pattern:
This vacancy is for 1 day per week, preferably a Tuesday, but we can be flexible on which day.
Hours:
5h40min per week, 8.30am – 3.00pm, with a 50-minute unpaid lunchbreak between 12pm and 12.50pm
38 weeks per year (term time only, excluding TD days).
Salary:
E6-E8, £25,183 - £25,992 pro rata per annum, actual salary £3232 - £3336 per annum

Ivy Lane School is a two-form entry Primary School in the centre of Chippenham, Wiltshire and is part of the Pickwick Academy Trust. We also have our on-site Sunflowers Nursery which accepts children from the age of 3 years old. We believe in ‘Learning for Life’, aiming to equip every child with both the skills to be successful beyond their primary years and a life-long appetite for learning. The school community really is a special place to learn. Ofsted Jan 2022 recognised this; ‘Teamwork is central to the work at Ivy Lane to ensure pupils are educated and nurtured well.’
Our school values of ‘Learning, Environment, Others and Ourselves’ underpin our ethos. We place a huge importance on outdoor learning and are very lucky to have Forest Schools Provision. We also have an extensive provision of social and emotional support for our children.
Role overview
Do you love the great outdoors? Have you a passion for outdoor learning?
Have you got a Forest School Practitioner qualification or wish to gain the qualification? If so, this is the job for you! We are looking to appoint a Forest Schools Leader. The children at Ivy Lane School love outdoor learning and want somebody with the same love to develop their skills. If you are forward thinking and able to work within a team, able to share good practice and with amazing ideas as well as being caring, innovative, approachable have a great sense of humour, we would love to have you on our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational person to join our wonderful schools in order to deliver regular forest school lessons.
The successful candidate must have or be willing to gain a Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership as well as holding the appropriate first aid certificate. It would be helpful if you have experience of working with children across the primary age range. The role will include delivering a range of outdoor activities that enable each student to reach their full potential. Within your role you will be required to plan quality planning and delivering, additionally you will be required to write and check risk assessments for the sites and tools used and ensure health & safety procedures.
This is a part time position within the school working one day a week during term time only. Previous experience of working in a primary school setting is not essential.
