What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Foundational Skills Tutor and Cover Supervisor to join our supportive school community. This rewarding role combines targeted literacy and numeracy intervention with cover supervision, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to students’ confidence, progress and success.
You will deliver structured support to individuals and small groups in literacy, numeracy and handwriting, helping students develop the foundational skills they need to thrive. You will also monitor progress, contribute to review cycles and work closely with colleagues to ensure effective support for students.
When not delivering interventions, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absence, following lesson plans and maintaining a calm, purposeful learning environment with high expectations for behaviour and engagement.
