General Kitchen Assistant job summary

This role is for 17.5 hours a week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus training days)

Are you enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team? We are looking for a General Catering Assistant to join our friendly school catering team at Venn Boulevard & Sullivan Centre.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment, takes pride in providing healthy and nutritious meals, and wants to be part of a supportive school community.

About the Role

As a General Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help prepare and serve meals to our pupils, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service. You’ll play a key part in creating a positive lunchtime experience for our children.

Key Duties
  • Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals

  • Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas

  • Washing up and clearing away after service

  • Complying with food hygiene and health & safety regulations

  • [Supporting the cook and other team members as required]
