Are you looking for a role where you can inspire and support children with special needs?

Our Opportunity

You will be working closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, adjusting activities according to the pupil needs and responses. You will act a second pair of ears and eyes for the teacher, observing pupil’s performance and behaviour, drawing any issues to the teacher's attention. As well as interacting with pupils you will also support the teaching team by preparing classroom materials ready for fun-filled lessons.

You will have the enthusiasm and resilience to work with children and young people who have a wide variety of needs including:

  • Autistic spectrum disorder
  • Moderate and severe learning difficulties
  • Speech, language and communication

Skills & Qualifications

  • An awareness of child/young person’s development and learning
  • An awareness of the needs of children and young people with learning, sensory and physical difficulties
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • NVQ level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent or achievement within a reasonable timescale.
