General Teaching Assistant (Fixed Term) job summary
Fixed term (1 year) Term time only

Typical daily pattern - 8:50-15:20, 1 hr lunch.
Closing Date - Sunday 14th June 2026.
Grade C, SCP 3-6: starting at £13.28 per hour depending on experience.

Job Purpose:
- To support pupils in learning as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations.
- To support the class teacher in the delivery of the Numeracy and Literacy.
- To support the class teacher in the delivery of other areas of the curriculum as appropriate giving educational support as directed.
- To work with the class teacher on the preparation of lessons and materials as appropriate.
- To work with the class teacher to develop and implement a system of monitoring and recording progress.
- Assistance with pupil assessment and reporting procedures
- To provide regular feedback to the teacher about pupils.
- Providing emotional support to help better functioning in class and access to the curriculum.
- To attend staff meetings, team meetings and staff development training, where appropriate.
- To be aware of and adhere to school procedures.
- To contribute to the health and well-being of pupils.
- To contribute to the maintenance of appropriate standards of behaviour in school.
- To be aware of confidential issues related to home/pupil/teacher/school and work and to keep confidences appropriately.
- Having contact with parents, and with education and similar professionals
- To prepare and maintain displays and specific learning resources under the direction of the teacher.
- To support an effective teamwork process.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
