General Teaching Assistant job summary

Required from Monday 7th February

A General Teaching Assistant – 46 hours per week term time only

Initially a fixed term (variable hours) contract until 31st March 2023

£19,352 - £20,134 actual per annum, (subject to pay award April 2021)

The Governors are seeking to appoint an excellent teaching assistant support in EYFS and KS1 and in the wraparound care provision at Pickhill C of E and Crakehall C of E Primary Schools. This is an exciting time for our schools as we have recently become part of The Synergy Schools Federation which has created many opportunities for everyone.

The successful candidate will be a teaching assistant who is passionate about supporting and motivating children in a mixed age class. They will be working mainly in EYFS and KS1 and also supporting with the wraparound provision at both schools. The ability to work as part of a team is essential. Previous experience in EYFS is desirable but not essential.

Although the post is initially a fixed term contract, it is hoped that this can be made permanent, funding dependent.

1pm -3:30: GTA supporting with interventions in Class 1 and 2 (Monday, Tuesday,)
3:30 – 6:00: Afterschool Club and Night Owls (Monday, Tuesday)

Crakehall:

12.30 – 1.00: Lunch duty support
1.00 – 3.00: GTA support in class 1 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
3.15 – 5.30: Tea Timers support (wraparound provision)
